I had my op on the 13th, home on 15th, back in on the 19th, as l had ileum, home 25th, back for check up today, and after being given iv fluid was examined, and now it seems fecal matter is leaking out of my vagina, so I have to go in tomorrow for emergency op to try to rectify the problem, I may need a temporary or permanent stoma, which doesn't bother me in the least, I don't know what else I can take, it's every week, I feel so tired and listless, I just want some decent sleep, it's been getting better after I joined a trial, long may it continue. Has anyone else had the same problem, and how it was fixed? Needless to say I am a bit deflated, we left for the hospital at 9.45am got home at 7.30pm. Long day

Hi MissTee
Im so sorry that you have this. It’s horrendous. I had an issue in the early stages post LAR with my Ileostomy and I didn’t realise at the time. I was loosing a brown discharge from my vagina. Later on I had an EUA which determined that I didn’t have a rectovaginal fistula. Now there’s hope as I overheard my surgeon talking to another patient that her fistula was sealed I think I heard him say glue, but don’t quote me!
Try not to worry. Lots can be done the most important thing is to get you sorted
You may not need a permanent stoma but like you say life’s fine with it. In actual fact me having both my life was free and no issues with whoopi
It may be a case of giving your body a breather for a while and a stoma would do that. Then later you may have a reversal if you want
I really hope that you get a treatment plan quickly and you can enjoy some days without this constant worry. You’ve had a rotten time. I am sending you a hug and hoping that your team get their act together quickly
A stoma op isn’t too invasive so hopefully you’ll be out and about quickly
Keep us posted xx
Ann
