Husband in so much pain

Hi All,

my husband is so poorly he has deteriorated in the last 4 weeks since diagnosis from bowel cancer that has spread to his liver. We are still awaiting the pet scan and mri before they can tell us what the treatment plan is.
my issue is that he is so unwell the last 2 days he has started to feel sick and today he has hardly eaten he is in so much pain. He was supposed to have a stent put in on Friday but they said his bowel was not empty enough after having two enemas so have rebooked him.
has anyone else suffered so badly before treatment started like this ?

It sounds like you need to flag this up with your nurse, or maybe GP, to see if there is anything else that can be done in the meantime. Take care

thank you for your message.

the stent has been re booked for the 2nd November he has had his pet scan and we have the MRI tomorrow. He turned a corner on Monday after the pet scan and is now on steroids which has really helped with the liver pain he is eating again and has not felt sick he is extremely tired and is struggling to do anything but I have told him just to rest and not to push himself which is so hard as he is not good at doing nothing but so much more positive now. just awaiting the results and hopefully once we know his treatment plan we can start to make plans again.

Sounds a step forward and I hope there are a few more in the coming weeks to get this onto a good clinical pathway for your husband .
