  • And me Purple heart  always there for Everyone

sorry been a shit few weeks here

my MinL’s (88yo) health suddenly declined rapidly ….lethargy and falls with no Aparent reason   Turns out it was a brain tumour ( mets from TNBC last year) she sadly died 10 days after hospital admission.
This then necessitated FinL (92Yo) going into aged care home as she was his full time carer and his dementia seems waay worse then we had realised and she had been covering up for him so well !! Her sons cannot comprehend the speed of her decline … she refused all medical intervention in the end as she had just had enough. So sad  Funeral this coming Friday

  • Sorry to hear that . It’s the speed of change that takes your breath away . One moment everything seems stable then the ground shifts . Very hard for you to watch all of that and support Your father in law at the same time . Your mother in law must have been pulling some shift .

I feel for your husband, it is a lot to get their heads around and try and organise everything .

She sounded a very brave lady and will be thinking of you all on Friday . I am rather fond of this generation too . Such hard workers with a great capacity to think about others . You can see that reflected in her ability to absorb her husbands condition .

We have just started carers for my dad who is a very private man and I was worried how it would go . Yesterday my sister and I were in the room working with my mum when my dad arrived in the doorway with his carer and stated that he wanted “upmost respect for this wonder lady “.  If only I had known we could have gone down this road earlier !

As ever in these difficult times I do hope you are thinking about some self care too . I think we all know how hard it can be to achieve but very important .  is brilliant at reminding me to achieve a balance .

Take care and much love for Friday ,
