So, was at hospital today with Jay for the consultation with the pharmacy specialist. He went for his blood tests yesterday and have come back `all good` his full blood count is looking good kidney function and liver are also ok. The pharmacy consultant seemed quite impressed I think when Jay told him he has had no sickness or adverse effects with the medication. The only thing he has had though was some indigestion and heart burn and the neuropathy in his fingers (pins n needles). The pharmacist is going to give him another tablet to combat the heartburn and indigestion if it happens but it's not compulsory for him to take it and it will only be a case if he needs it. He mentioned the dizzy spell I spoke of the other day and he was asked if this was a `one off` and he said yes but nothing else is in place for that just now, but it has been noted. They are going to up his capecitabine to the full dose of 5 and 5 (morning and night) as he seems to have tolerated the current dose ok but again if he gets any adverse effects with that, they will reduce it again. His Oxaliplatin infusion is at 8.30a.m. tomorrow morning so we'll be `up with the larks` he's a `morning person` anyway but unfortunately, I'm not. Another wee good bit of good news for those of you following my posts, William now has a new car- YAY!! and Hurrah!! so hopefully that's that saga over and Jay can give getting well again his 100% attention and get the rest he needs without all the worry and anxiety. On a sad not just heard about The Queen as its all over the TV news and radio. Poor soul not looking good for her especially as the family has been summoned to Balmoral. Wishing her well and hopefully it'll turn out for the best and she'll see out her Jubilee year. Take Care Everyone.

Well done to Jay for some great blood results and I hope today has gotten off to a good start for his infusion.
So pleased the car situation has resolved and you can focus purely on keeping your husband stress free during treatment.
What a load of your mind!
I was very sad to hear of the Queen passing yesterday. She worked till her last day on this Earth for sure . It’s a very strange feeling when she has always been there !
Hope today goes smoothly ,

Thank you Karen and Court. At the hospital just now. He's in getting his infusion as I write. Not allowed to sit in with him could do it last time because it was his first. They can't have too many people in these wee rooms and restrict it to patients only and they're still following Covid guidelines of course. So I'm relegated to the corridor til he's finished been n got a cuppa n that so I'm ok now.
Hi Rosie!!
Good to hear from you! Where have you been hiding. We're not long back from the hospital and already the neuropathy has started with the tingling sensation in his fingers. As you will have seen in my last post, they have upped Jay's Capecitabine to the full dose (500 morning and night) so see how he goes with that. As I said, the pharmacist was quite impressed he tolerated the first round well if only for the neuropathy and slight heartburn and indigestion. They've gave him omeprazole for that but its just when and if he needs its them and its not compulsory to take them. They've gave him his anti-sickness tablets too and anti-diahorrea tabs too he's come home with a `bagful` again and that's not just his stoma
. He didn't really need the anti-sickness ones the last time but he took them in any case just incase he was sick. He felt nauseous a couple of times but not physically sick. He's got steroids he takes too for the first 3 days only after his treatment but apart that he's ok he just needs to have his bloods done again before next cycle but no (touch wood) everything seems to be sailing along nicely so far. Yes William got his car and he's away `happy as a pig in sh**t' so now his dad can focus 100% in getting better and not have stress and worry to deal with. Hope you're well too Rosie and things are finally get done for you too. Take Care.
