Hi all round 2 done of folfori not feeling too bad nausea for a few days and tired not sleeping steriod overload I think.
I'm just hoping it's doing the trick and attacking that cancer.
Have many of you had success with folfori I've read different thanks.
I have an appointment with my oncologist 22nd Sept so that will be useful.
Keep going warriors x
Hi thanks Court for the add...yes I'm on this as well and the tiredness is a nightmare! I've reduced my steroids to 2 days after being wired up and really helped with the bounce back but I have at least 2 days sleeping once the pump is off! Luckily I don't feel sick so it was an easy one to drop.
I had my scan a few weeks ago and have had up to 40% reduction in the liver Mets! It's worked really well so far with me and I'm delighted - I had a noticeable difference in the bowel from cycle 3-4 so knew something was happening. Markers also going down so all signs were good.
Keep positive, eat well, drink loads of water and reach out when you need support! Good luck for your scans!! Xx
Thank you for replying.
What did you notice about your bowel I have an ileostomy and this time my output is very thick where as last time I struggled with diarrhoea.
I have a 2cm liver met and a 7mm lymph node deep in my tummy. I was just concerned because others are on Avastin and I was wondering if I was having a good enough treatment.
The tiredness is unreal but if its doing its job I'm ok with that.
I found that my bowels are more solid than loose - I don't have an ileostomy so I noticed my poos getting bigger (they were like ribbons) and the blood/mucus in stools have improved to such a point now that they almost look normal.
I have/had 4 large tumors in my liver, and still on the ovary - but they say my lymph nodes are back to normal. TBH I have no idea what's happening with the rest of me too scared to really think about it - but I deffo felt better after round 3. My markers didn't stablize or start going down until no 5 - so couldn't even have that as back up.
Yeh I really struggle with the tiredness - I start treatment tomorrow and from Sunday till Tuesday I feel like a different person! Wednesday start bouncing back and by Thursday feel 'normal'
Im control and contain so to have such a positive response I'm over the moon. On another note, my dad is on Floflox-he has stage 4 pancreatic cancer and the original treatment stopped working. He was offered this as last line. We really thought we were about to loose him hit this treatment has worked / he's bounced back, markers reduced and he's more himself! He's on treatment 5 so scans in a few weeks.
Hope this goes some way in helping - you have been though so much xx
