Hi all my gp has diagnosed lymphedema in my leg which he has said could be because of the radiotherapy I had before I had my surgery iv had yearly ct scan and thankfully iv got no recurrence so far has anybody else come across this x
Hi Dando55
My husband is going through chemotherapy treatment just now. He had an operation at the beginning of this year to get rid of his bowel tumour which went very well. After the operation he had very badly swollen ankles (odema) and our GP said the same thing that it was all because of the type of surgery he had. Unfortunately his cancer has recurred hence the chemotherapy treatment. He went for a follow up appointment in May this year and a blood test showed his CEA markers had risen and as his oncologist said `a few wee cancer spots` on his bowel membranes were spotted but were hard to detect at first on the CT scan but were there so now he's going through a few cycles of chemo. His ankles are back to normal now though so it is maybe something that will right itself with you. Good news that your cancer hasn't come back too just luck of the draw with my hubby I suppose and couple of those wee micro cell buggers got through again. Take Care.

Hi Dando55
I’m not sure if you are aware, but there is a group for lymphoedema in the community here you may want to take a look at.
