My hubby is recovering well from his liver resection six weeks ago but is having a few problems which I am a bit concerned about..he had a very successful bowel resection in November 21 to remove the primary cancer and although his bowel movements are still hit and miss at times its been far better than pre diagnosis..so for the last few days he has been a bit constipated.. still going but just bits at a time and the constant feeling he needs to which was something he did experience pre diagnosis...he is a very impatient man and although I've tried to encourage him to eat more fibre he is becoming very frustrated that its not settling...after his liver resection the hospital gave him alot of laxatives due to the pain killers he was on so I did wonder if his bowel is just taking time to get back to normal...he has had so many MRI and PET scans prior to liver op so surely if there was a problem at the bowel join surely it would have been picked up...it just feels like a never ending round of worry at the minute...

The people who provided my initial and invaluable help and support were the specialist nurses. I’d encourage you to reach out to them with these issues and seek their advice on everything from diet to exercise via medication.

    Every blessing
