I have been prescribed Capecitabine and a B6 supplement following a right hemicolectomy. After a few days I developed a rash on my chest, face and neck. It's so itchy, especially on my face. I went to the hospital 5 days ago and after a 3 hour wait in a waiting room full of potentially infectious people, they gave me hydrocortisone cream, Flamazine, E45 and Dermol lotion. I was also advised to take Piriton. None of these seem to help, apart from the Piriton, but that only lasts a couple of hours. I told my oncologist about this, but I dont see her until next Thursday, and although I was advised to stop taking the Capecitabine and the B6, the rash persists. It's like prickly heat but worse, especially around my eyes and across my cheekbones. I'm not sleeping because of it and it's getting me down. I'm frightened to drive because of the Piriton and am starting to go stir crazy being stuck at home!
I told the holistic needs people about how this is affecting me but they didn't seem that interested.
Has anyone else experienced this?
No, but you could ask your GP for a longer acting and non sedative antihistamine
