I went to see my consultant surgeon today and he delivered the news that its spread to three places I have a deep lymph node in my tummy I have a spot on my liver and one in my pelvis low down apparently,.
To say I'm distraught is an understatement I have to go back onto chemo to attack this lymph node and the other spots.
Now me and chemo don't get on but the oncologist remembers me so he's asked for the markers from 2021 and he's going to look at other combination of chemo, the main thing is I've got to get through it otherwise I don't think there's much hope its going to be extremely hard especially when you know what's coming.
He told me to remain positive its caught early and my cea is only 10.4 he said he woukd normally expect it to be in the 100s.
He's also contacted Basingstoke to be considered for a washout and liver resection, but they won't do that untill I've had chemo.
So we've all had a good cry and now I've got my positive pants on
On a more positive note my daughter got her job today for Virginia Atlantic. So my aim is to see her get her wings.
Thanks for bearing with me and my long post.
Oh so sorry to read this HazG.
I remember how you struggled on chemotherapy and can see why you are apprehensive, my mum had emergency admissions the first year but the second time they made some adjustments that actually worked and it was much better than the first year so hopefully your team are doing the same .
Your consultant clearly has a long term plan in mind and sees you having a low tumour burden with a surgical option .
Now to get you through the chemotherapy , we are here and supporting you every step of the way .
Congratulations to your daughter . That’s your first goal , now for many more .
Take care ,

Just came out from my CT scan to read this.
Unfortunately your intuition was bang on. At least your consultant feels it’s still being caught early and you can throw everything at it as best as you are able. That’s all any of us can do. Keep pulling those big girls pants on.
Wonderful news re your daughter something positive to focus on.

The scans have saved my mum’s life twice now . A necessary evil I call them .
Its fresh news so you need time to let it sink in and start preparing yourself for the next step in this process .
There are some pretty good surgical teams out there !
Thinking of you .
