Hi a bit worried… went to the toilet for a BM and there was a wee bit of blood in the toilet and when wiping. It was a bit sore when passing the toilet. I had my tumour removed in January and not long finished chemo. I’m worried it’s back! Don’t know what to do. Can it come back that quickly? I’m not sure if I have piles

  • Hi MJ

I can understand your worrying and it’s worth phoning your colorectal nurse for advice. I know it’ll be Monday however you could phone the nurses here for support.
Its probably piles or maybe where you’ve have the treatment and some hard or acidic stools.
Try not to worry bowel cancer is slow moving and once you’ve logged your concerns to your team they can check it for you

  • Thanks Artsie, I was thinking I may still be healing from my surgery and will take awhile for it to recover. What do you mean by bowel cancer is slow moving? Thanks

  • That’s what I’ve been told. It takes a long time to grow and as you’ve only had  it removed January its hopeful that it’s nothing sinister.

But get it checked. Always best to air the side of caution.
Hope you have a good weekend try not to worry.
