Hi everyone, I was diagnosed with stage 2 rectal polyp tumor in December. After one abandoned surgery in February due to the surgeon deciding on a smaller op, I had TEMS op in May and am now starting 5 weeks chemo/ radiotherapy. Anyone else experiencing similar?
Thanks
Hi, I too, had one abandoned surgery for low rectal tumour and now scheduled for TAMIS surgery next week. Today, had a appointment with the colorectal surgeon to discuss surgery and potential further treatments, if needed so you're further along the line than me. Looking at your dates from diagnosis, it seems to have taken a while to have surgery, it must have been anxious time for you . How did you find the TEMS surgery?
I am sure there are lots of lovely people on this forum that have had similar experience with follow up chemo/radiotherapy. Wishing you all the best xx
Hi Rose...yes the wait has been horrible. Due to various things - surgeon holiday, staff shortages in theatre, then I caught COVID!
Anyway TEMS was fine, I was discharged same day. Feeling fine at the mo. Have been told margin around tumour was clear and having chemo radiation to reduce chance of pelvic recurrance as no lymph nodes taken with TEMS. Fingers crossed. Best wishes to you for your op xxxxx
