Hi I’ve recently had my operation to remove tumour. 5 days ago. I’m struggling with what to eat, I’ve been eating yoghurt, custard and sofft foods but I’m wondering if anyone has any advice on things to try.
Hi Lany68. Are you still in hospital and do you have a stoma? I lived off jacket potatos (without the skin) and cottage cheese, toast and rice crispies for breakfast and a sandwich for lunch. You could try introducing a few new foods gradually and see how you go? There’s a few ideas on this link
If there’s something specific that you’re struggling with stoma/weight loss/nausea then please let us know and we’ll try and help you further
Take care
Karen x
Are you struggling because of your appetite? I had my bowel resection in May '18, & remember the day after my Op, whilst still in hospital - I was ravenous, despite the sign above my bed saying 'Nil by mouth.' Nurse didn't mind - & for the 3 days there, I ate everything that was going on the food trolley! I was never given advice re. diet, & once home, I continued with my normal favourite foodstuffs - to include curries & wine. I never made any changes.
