I just had my bowel cancer screening invite, and it said “you may wish to call if you have a stoma”. So I called the number and when I said I had a colostomy, the lady asked me if I was sure.
I was tempted to say that I was only pretending to have one but desisted! I presume it’s in case I might have an ileostomy and was confused, but I don’t and I wasn’t.
So the delights on the arrival of the kit of having a root about in my bag-can hardly wait!

Oh my! I wondered what would happen if you received a bowel screening invite - I'm an ileostomy. At least it's only the one sample that they ask for these days. Mind you, my tumour was picked up through bowel screening (I had no symptoms whatsoever) so it's a fantastic service and we shouldn't feel squeamish about it.
Happy rooting around!
Hi BlueBlue
It really is an excellent service we have, and I see you’re another example which shows exactly that. I’m sure it won’t be too difficult to get the test completed!

Should get it in a couple of weeks Karen, so I’ll report back on my progress…
