Hi everyone,
I had breast Cancer 6 years ago and am recovered however it’s left me very paranoid regarding it coming back.
Over the last couple of months whenever I go to the toilet for a number 2 I struggle to pass anything and then when I do I have bright red blood on the tissue and several times in the toilet bowl water.
I don’t think I have piles but am unsure if these could be bowel cancer symptoms and I don’t want to waste the Drs time.
Any advice would be much appreciated:)
Powderpuff, sorry you are having these symptoms. You need to see your GP and be examined. It may not be anything serious, but could be cancer. Don’t let anyone fob you off. You need referral for investigation. Good luck xŷ
Onwards and flatwards (don't do hills) and keep walking if you can!
Hello and thank you so much.
I hope you’re doing well :)
Yes definitely get it checked. I had bright red blood 10 tears ago. I went to the GP and it was piles. I was relieved- I didn’t feel like I wasted my GPs time and he also complimented me on getting it checked out. Another story was different- my mother-in-law had bright red blood and went to her GP. It was bowel cancer. Because they caught it early she was completely cured and lived 25 more years to age 90.
Thank you for your reply, glad to hear you were ok :)
Hi Powderpuff
i thought I had piles but bowel screening picked me up. it’s really treatable if it’s cancer.
Most people don’t have cancer and find polyps or piles.
I hope that you can see your GP and put your mind at rest
Ann
Hello Powderpuff.
Please get checked by your GP. It could be nothing or it could be something. You are not wasting your doctors time. I felt like you. I hate going to the doctors. Because I did, I'm still here to tell the tale.
Take care
Kim x
Always go to your doctor. I wish I had gone sooner. When my parents were diagnosed 2 years ago I told myself I’d go get a check up. I never did. I feel ready stupid now for not doing it. Book an appointment now. Chances are it’s fine but they have a 2 week process so isn’t it better to know? FIT test, colonoscopy and results. Let us know you are booked in with the doctor x
