I had bowel cancer in the colon in Jan 2020. The tumour was removed successfully, but chemo was not recommended due to the COVID pandemic.
in October 2020 scans and bloods showed CEA antigen at 55, and metastatic tumours in the liver impacting 65% of the organ.
chemo commenced 22/12/20. By April 2021 scans showed that surgery was viable. I had surgery in May 21 which took out all but one tumour. This was ablated in August 2021, and, given a successful outcome, I was discharged by Kings 6/10/21.
in December 2021 scans showed a return of the ablated liver tumour, and also a tumour in the supradiaphramatical lymph node.
i started chemo again in Feb 22, completing 6 doses by 20/4/22. Scans now show the chemo has not worked. The tumour in the l6mph gland has not grown, but the liver tumour has grown from 9mm to 25mm in 5 months. Chemo has been suspended, and I’m now having a PET scan in advance of referral to Kings College for a plan.
anyone know if there’s a herbal solution??
Hi
It is easy to get disheartened when recurrence occurs and it’s a bump on the road that my mum has hit a few time particularly with the liver . However did take two full years of going back and forward for her to get a second liver resection . Much larger than the first removing 73% of her liver . This time it did the job and remained clear since 2010 . I think in total she had seen off over ten liver mets . It was such a blow to have a recurrence after surgery .
I can’t address the lymph node aspect as we never bothered asking by that point . The surgeon just said we got what we expected to find , cancer . Then we were all happy to move along , so weary were we with the whole thing .
I assume they stripped some lymph nodes when they were back in but can’t say for certain .
I understand the herbal aspect but I honestly have not seen anything that would raise an eyebrow . This did however posted by another forum member .

New to me and I have been watching this forum for over ten years . Have you seen any references to either ?
When it comes to the Lymph nodes I would want to know from my team if there was a surgical or radiotherapy option first .
I do hear you though and get where you are coming from . It’s not easy picking yourself up from these situations . I hated it for my mum however hopefully Kings will have a good plan .
Take care ,

Hey mate, my story is similar. 40mm tumor in the colon removed with 1 positive lymph node. 4 rounds of capox to impact secondary liver spread. I'm currently waiting on my scan to see if chemo has helped my liver with hope of surgery. I highly recommend a documentary called the god plant. I had been really low with everything and that show has really given me a second wind and more fight to beat this! Take care
