Hi all, I'm looking for suggestions from those that have been diagnosed with bowel cancer and have finished their treatments. My oncologist said I can eat anything but something at the back of mind tells me there should be some special diet to avoid the cancer coming back.
Thank you.
Hi Bertz
I am a firm believer that (in those genetically susceptible) alcohol is a major factor in many bowel cancer Dx, so zero to minimal use advisable ….. easier said than done ?
red meat, processed meats and fatty foods all also suggested foods to avoid
Congrats on finishing all your Tx.
Hi Bertz,
I followed the dietary and other suggestions in this article by Dr Charles Fuchs of Yale University. https://medicine.yale.edu/news-article/striving-to-improve-outcomes-in-colon-cancer/ .
I discussed this with my NHS oncologist who said they were OK with what I was doing.
Tree nuts (but not peanuts) are good https://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2018/02/180228160438.htm
