well I have been a date of the 20/4 for my rectum colon removal which is great the rest is a bit of a mess which is stressing me out still not so Anxious about the operation,
but have not had my operation pre assessment as initial it was booked for the 22/4, which is 2 days after the op. Not seen stoma nurse yet not had any booking for my PCR test before my opp as I will be isolating for the two days before. I get to see my consultant next Tuesday (I saw my hair dresser today and she is going in the same day as me and she had her assessment and Pcr test booked done and dusted)
I am having trouble trying to get my mum into rest bite care from social there is no sense or urgency as I want her settled in place so I can visit a couple of days before I go into isolation so it’s not such a wrench for her.
this is really stressing me out
Hopefully when you see the consultant the other things will get booked in.
When you see the stoma nurse its worth getting the trial stoma bags to practise with.I know some people dont bother but I found them really helpful confidence wise.I wore them out and about before my op and soon realised that they really cant be seen .it helped me enormously so that post op I wasnt worried at all and soon got into the swing of using the bags.
