My husband developed colitis caused by immunotherapy. He was put on IV steroids these haven't worked for him and he has got worse so he is now going to be trying infliximab tomorrow morning and has been told he can no longer continue on the immunotherapy as after 8 months on treatment it has caused colitis. I am just wondering if anyone has been in a similar situation to this and what the outcome was.

  • Hi. Bowels have improved but he's still not managing to eat very much and is very tired. They have told us he's immunotherapy has stopped permanently so we are seeing the oncologist next week to see if there is anything else xx

  • Do you follow Bowelbabe ? Sounds similar to what she is going through . She is on Instagram but also writes a column in the Sun newspaper .

Is he on antibiotics ? She has managed to re challenge with a previous chemo .

You have both had a lot to endure . That sounded so sore . Hopefully the oncologist will have a new plan for him .

How are you holding up ?

  • I follow bowelbabe on tiktok but she doesn't post very much on there I don't have Facebook or Instagram just tiktok and Snapchat. I'm ok just full of anxiety I hate not knowing what's next etc but hopefully we will get a plan next week xx

  • It’s a horrible feeling waiting for the next stage in the process . It’s rotten the time delays because it brings so much direction when the plan is put in place .
It totally drains you . It’s not until it is put in place that you feel you can breath again . What a process !

    Thinking of you both .
