My husband has been on nivolumab for 8 months now the past 3 weeks he has been having bowel trouble constipation, diarrhoea, abdominal pain, bloating and not being able to wee. We have been to the hospital 3 times ans admitted twice only yesterday they did a CT scan and today a colonoscopy which has shown he has stage 3 ulcerative colitis and has to stop treatment. Has anyone ever experienced this?
Hi Hayleyc89
Thats such a shame and sounds sore . I have heard of some people having that reaction to chemotherapy but know less about Immunotherapy.
Is he having a break to treat it just now with a view to recommending it ?
Its been doing such a good job for him too . Hope they get him back to full strength soon . It sounds very sore indeed .
Take care ,

Thank you Court. He's in hospital and they have started him on steroids they said if they don't improve things in 72 hours they are transferring him to a different hospital to try a different medication they said its very serious and they are monitoring him closely xx
So sorry to hear that . You have both endured so much and I will be thinking of him that the treatment works over the next two days .
One thing we know for sure , your husband can surprise you with his ability to bounce back .
Still here for you though as I know this has been a tough , tough time for you .
