Hello. My Dad (91) was discharged a week ago following a Hartmann's Procedure to remove a colorectal tumour. He's managing his stoma bag fine but a few days ago he started getting mucus dropping out of his anus - enough to dribble rather alarmingly down his legs. Due to a related problem, he has virtually no muscle control down in his anus (blame it on years of Senna tablets) so he can't hold it in until he visits a toilet. I've tried Tena for Men and ladies' panty liners (with wings) but they don't really absorb the mucus - it just sits on top. The colorectal nurse says it will settle down, but in the meantime, can anyone recommend pads or pants that work for this problem? Thanks.
. Do you have any advice please? x
