Does anybody on this forum know much about how perineural invasion affects the risk of recurrence or its significance in the histology report for a Stage 3 patient..my hubby was T3N2bMO RO post surgery...tumour was moderately differentiated...
Hubby is about to finish cycle 3 and I know the oncologist wanted to aim for 8 cycles as he is high risk but he is struggling this cycle..I wondered if 4 cycles would be as good as 8 but due to the the EMVI and PNI positive elements plus the amount of nodes involved that trying to aim for the 8 cycles would give him a better chance of it not returning...can anybody offer any advice...
Hi, ellen93, in the case of my chemo for V1, the oncologist would have been ok with half the cycles, but mine was a totally different regime as it was weekly over 30 weeks (which took 34!!). Perhaps ask? They should be upfront I hope. I got through by saying 'just one more', and then there was no more!! All the best
Gemmary Thank you for response..we are hoping to keep going as we would like to try for the full 8 cycles but yes I need to ask the Oncologist really...its so strange but I feel more stressed and anxious about the histology of hubby's cancer and the chemo treatment and side effects than anything else..maybe the histology makes it real with the worry of reccurance just round the corner but thank heavens for these forums where I can get it off my chest and ask the things I can't ask or discuss with anybody else...
