I have had my operation on 9th March after a number of ct/mri scans, chemo/radiotherapy. I am extremely uncomfortable where I have had part of operation to remove rectum - can’t sit down. Do you have stitches removed at all, and if so do you get some relief if so.
Hi I had disolvable stitches.
Sitting isnt easy but whatever you do dont use a donut cushion.it pulls the stitches apart.I was lent a blow up cushion from the redcross via the district nurse, who had come to see how it was healing.
It is uncomfortable but does get easier.although 2 1/2 yrs on I still have some numbness in the area. The surgeon explained that stitching nerves together doesnt always work perfectly.
Do ask anything else and all the best
Kath
Ps.if you click on katz51 you can read my bio and see how I got on.
Thanks for that. I have no bother walking from day 1 but I cannot sit, don’t know if it’s cos I have quite a large fluid gathered there which the nurse this morning said very red but no infection. I try to exercise by putting radio on and dancing to music every 1.30hrs roughly
