Hubby has had moroon coloured rectal bleeding since wednesday when he passes a stool

Since friday he has 4 bouts of bloody maroon diarrhoea

Hes never had this problem before and we didn't know what the bleeding is

I'm thinking maybe we should go to a and e ?

  • Hiya

i think you need to go to A&E to see what it is the darker the blood the further up the problem.

    hopefully easy fix

    wish you both well

  • I think so too but need to persuade hubby

It feels a bit like we're cheating the system by going to a and e rather than the normal dr route but I just think he should be looked at sooner rather than later ?

  • Have you tried ringing your out of hours gp for advice.or ring 111 they could tell you the best course of action

All the best with whatever you decide.and hope it gets sorted.

  • Hiya

why don’t you call 111 for some advice, give full details on what is happening, they will advice you. They will get a doctor in touch with you or tell you to go to A&E.

or phone the nurses on Macmillan on 0808 808 0000 they are here 8 to 8 just for expert advice on you can do an online chat on here as well

always our minds go to the worst place, but you do need to take action to find out what is wrong nobody want to talk about our waste product and it’s plumbing. It’s better to know what you are facing rather then ending up as an blue light emergency at A&E.

your husband body telling him there is something wrong, it needs a repair what ever that repair is.

    hope it goes well

  • If you are concerned about the volume of blood then I would go to exclude a bleeding ulcer etc .
