Good evening,
Just been diagnosed after a sigmoidoscopy with rectal cancer of 4 cm at 6 cm from the anal verge, I had MRI and CT scan, the stage is T3N0M0, seen the surgeon and the oncologist and they suggest to have 5 weeks of radio chemotherapy, I am 66 and looking for some advice.
Thank you to you all,
just been today for my assessment for the radiotherapy, had the CT scan, EEC, blood test etc, I also accepted to be on the trial for slightly more radiotherapy and hope everything go well, I will start my therapy the 4th of April.
hi Steeetcar, I felt ill after my colonoscopy and had complications after my first colonostomy op. I had adhesions which blocked my intestines. I think this is rare and blockages can clear by themselves. I'm not meaning to alarm you but that was my experience - 11 years ago. My experience got resolved . Seek advice from the hospital see what they say. I hope you get some advice and reassurance.

hi Angiebaby, I too had rectal cancer 11 years ago. Had three months radiotherapy and Chemo (tablet form). Then a colonostomy op with permanent stoma bag. I think I was T3 ( tumour- although walnut size hadn't spread to my lymph nodes. I won't lie the treatment was painful but it saved my life.
