  • Thanks for that Artsie Its £42 a small jar  and I mean small..Apparently the UK has only had 1 clinical trial  mmmmm

  • Yes I’m not sure about that at all. It always concerns me when a natural product has an enormous price  I found it for £37  I know manukau honey is really expensive but there’s a reason  I’d do some more research first I think

  • Yes I don’t think it has many benefits. Maybe if they really believe in it.

  • Hi Alaine

The bees which make it feed on various medicinal herbs apparently, and there has been a study done in terms of decreasing harsh side effects from chemo. It’s very expensive but apparently you only need a small amount daily to have a beneficial effect. I have read about it in the past, but didn’t take it personally as I didn’t have the side effects it is claimed to help with.

I think it depends on expectations with this, as with any type of natural remedy which is touted as amazing.

  • Hi

If your friend is going through chemotherapy they are best to check it out with their oncologist  as I read it can interact with some chemos .

However I read that after my mum used honey during chemo . Manuka , expensive was an understatement however I read an clinical study back in 2009 that said it had antibacterial properties and she never did catch an infection . However I have never gone back to read the updated research etc if there is any . She still uses it from time to time .

However I was surprised that something as benign as honey could have an interaction with chemo . Not sure if any of that is even relevant now as I have never look again .

    Hope your well .
