Hi folks, I’m brand new on here and am hoping that you may be able to answer some questions I have. My Mum was diagnosed with colon cancer on Tuesday. She is 91 and should be going home tomorrow with a full support package from the end of life team. We’ve been told that she has 2 weeks. That’s myself and my sister have been told, Mum doesn’t want to know.
My question is what should we be looking out for? Will there be a gradual decline or rapid? Will she suffer, or just not wake up one morning? Is there a general pattern to the next 2 or so weeks, or is it different for each individual?
I apologise for being so blunt and to the point, but it would seem that we don’t have long to work out where we’re going.
Any insight into the near future would be very welcome and gratefully received. Thank you in advance!
