I am officially stoma free!!!

After a hell of 6 days at hospital today I’m going home without my little bastard (my stoma).

now recovery and hopefully in 6 weeks time I’ll be enjoying a salad without rushing to the toilet.

Thanks and good luck to all of you, it’s hard but it’s possible to beat it.

Great news Martina3. Take it steady initially and if something has an adverse effect, leave it and try it again in a couple of months. I eat salad but it can have a loose effect on my bowels x

Hi Artsie,

7 months, it was going only 3 but then I had a round of chemo. Then I decided I needed to go to my country for 3 weeks at Christmas, one month more was not going to be that bad, besides now it’s impossible for me to be more than 3 away from my toilet

my advise, I did it, the Saturday before my surgery I had dinner and drinks with friends. I wasn’t sure how long it was going to be for me to be able to do that freely (no toilet hurgue) again

Thats a good time. Covids causing my NHS trust a year wait. I’m okay with it though I want to travel this summer I am tired of the restrictions Covids caused. I need to see my family in Spain and Ireland before anymore ops.
