Hi. I have advanced bowel cancer with spread to liver and abdominal lining. I have had 6 cycles of oxyplatin and capecitabine but this hasn’t worked and I have more tumours in my abdominal lining. They are now going to try Irinotecan IV with the oral capecitabine. This new IV drug seems to have more side effects and I am a bit worried. Just wondered if anyone has had this chemo and has any tips.

I am sorry to hear this but some people actually find it manageable . I will tag in Hayleyc89 as I think her husband had it .

Hi my husband had a combination of irinotecan, 5fu and oxalaplatin this worked and shrunk the tumor enough to operate but unfortunately the cancer returned after surgery so my husband is now on nivolumab immunotherapy he's last scan in November 21 was stable he just had he's second scan today will get the results in 2 weeks time.
