Hi fellow travelers,
Been a while since I’ve posted anything, I do fondly remember how needed and truly helpful this site was right after diagnosis and subsequent treatments. Nothing in my mind is more helpful than someone who’s been there- as opposed to reading it out of a book.
Five years ago today I was cut open and sewn back up. I honestly didn’t believe I’d still be around by this time, so I try my hardest to keep in mind this is all golden plus time. Not always easy to do lol.
For some of you new travelers on this road we find our selves on, speak your mind ask for help some of the greatest, caring, and helpful people to be found are right here on this site. I’ll leave you with four words that helped me get through a lot THIS TOO SHALL PASS
Well Hello Lifer what a joy to see your name pop up . Congratulations getting to five years and here’s to many more for you .
Hope life is treating you well . All good this side of the pond ! Got myself some adult children now and some rebellious parents !.
Take special care ,

Hi Court,
So glad to see you’re still on here , you’re definitely one of the aforementioned Great ones on here. I’m doing well a little stressed out caring for my ill Wife and at the same time her irresponsible ailing eldest son, only five yrs younger than myself lol.
Hard at times to realize I’m the one with stage four cancer Damn It. Good thing about it I guess is less time to wallow in self pity lol right.
Please give me the strength to change what I can, accept what I can't change and the wisdom to know the difference.
Love and Respect Tony
We miss your post Lifer .
Thank you do much . I hope you are finding space to take care of your own needs as it’s an essential piece of self care and you sound as though you have your share of caring .
More my dad than my mum at the moment with cognitive issues surfacing but whilst I do everything I can I do take care of myself . Balance is everything .
Are you on treatment just now ?

Hi Lifer and so pleased to see that you’re in the 5 year gang. Your ‘this too shall pass’ got me through some tough times in hospital. There’s a few of us oldies still knocking about on here and dom1969still pops in with his words of wisdom and no nonsense advice. I celebrated my 5 years NED in November and next hurdle is a hip replacement although a literal hurdle would be definitely out of the question!
Take care my friend

So very glad to see you and Court still going at it, between you two Hundreds of worried scared people have realized that other people they don’t even know truly care about what happens to them, that’s a gift I’ll never forget. Good luck with your hip replacement, it took away my Wife’s constant pain completely.
Please give me the strength to change what I can, accept what I can't change and the wisdom to know the difference.

Balance is truly the key. It does feel like a circus balancing act some days thank God I used to ride a unicycle way back in the day heck I even did stilts come to think of it.
Please give me the strength to change what I can, accept what I can't change and the wisdom to know the difference.
Love and Respect Tony
