My husband has been given Pliazon to try for skin problems and I wonder if any one had used it?  His face started bleeding from his pores this morning, like acne?  Thank you

  • Hi  I was given pliazon, didn't think much of it to be honest it didn't seem to do much. When my skin got bad I was also given Dermol 500 which I preferred, it can be used as a face wash as well as a moisturiser.  Is the skin problems down to cetuximab?

  • Thank you for responding.  Yes I believe it is Cetuximab as the oncologist warned of acne being a side effect.  It is just more painful than expected.  Also very sore mouth ulcer.

  • Yes, it can get painful, rashes, acne, etc.  Has he been given antibiotics? I took antibiotics for the duration of the treatment and could increase the dose when I had flare ups.  Also, they gave me hydrocortisone cream, to use sparingly.

I used Difflam for the mouth ulcers, it's slightly numbing so makes eating a bit more comfortable.

Make sure he mentions all the side effects to his team, they have all sorts of goodies that can help!

Cetuximab is a tough one but I had great results, hopefully your husband will too.x

  • Hi.  They gave him so much but he doesn't remember what everything is for!  We have Ciprofloxacin but think this is for serious infections.  So I think it must be the Doxycycline he needs to take.  Thank you for the tip of Difflam!  Very much appreciated.

  • Hi JoeyB

    yes you are correct

doxycycline is usually for acne and skin conditions

ciprofloxacin a more broad spectrum AntiB

  • Hi JoeyB,

My skin went awful due to trauma.
