Hi as anyone experienced cancer progression whilst on immunotherapy? My husband is having he's Ct scan on 15th Feb he's 1st scan showed he was stable with some shrinkage in one affected lymph node this was back in November but for the past few weeks he has been having some pain/discomfort around where he's primary tumor was removed and is having some constipation and he's bowels are making funny sounds like they did when he was 1st diagnosed. The oncologist said that because he's 1st scan while on immunotherapy was stable he would expect this scan coming up to be stable too but my husband had a good response 1st scan but my husband is convinced treatment has stopped working because of the symptoms he is having I am just wondering if anyone has had progression whilst on nivolumab immunotherapy? I have read so many promising stories but never come across a negative one about immunotherapy and I am getting my hopes up that this treatment will be some kind of miracle cure for him but my husband thinks I need to stop having so much hope as if it isn't working I should be prepared... sorry for rambling on and if it doesn't make sense.
Hi ,
My mum actually had a lot of bowel pain during her chemotherapy but it was actually just her colon getting a bit sensitive with treatment . I can understand where your husband is coming from and it’s only natural to protect yourself particularly given what he has endured .
However it could also be side effects of treatment .
Still holding out for more good news for him .

H iHayleyc89, I'm on same treatment as your husband, and yes constipation is one of my side effects, ask his nurse what is best laxative for him to try. I also have wind rumbling around especially if I have raw vegetables or some cooked vegetables. I hope his scan is good . I'm 20th round on Monday. Take care xx
Thank you Moi2 I hope you are well. My anxiety is through the roof right now with the scan coming up every little niggle worries me. Do you suffer with fatigue? My husband does he gets breathless very easy too even just walking upstairs tires him out I want to speak to the team about the symptoms he is having but he doesn't want me to he thinks I'm just fussing over nothing but I am a worrier I can't help it. I hope you are well xx
