Hi - had a strange one and just wondered if anyone can say.
I had MRI and CT last week (Friday) not had results yet. Had a call earlier from hospital to book me in for pre op next Thursday - this is the first contact I have had. About an hour or so later I had another call to book me in with consultant for results for next Friday. Therefore would this mean they are intending to do op or do they do pre op as a matter of course? I have never had any procedures before so all new to me. I did ask the nurse if she could tell me anything when she phoned for consultant appointment but she said she was unable to say. V xx
Strange isnt it.
I can only say what happened with me.I was sent for a colonoscopy by the medical consultant.never heard from her again.was sent an appointment for a ct then an mri.next thing I was sent an appointment with a surgeon.he was the one who told me I had cancer, although to be honest by then I had guessed the outcome.this was 2019 so nothing to do with covid.
I guess all hospitals have differing systems.
Hope you get sorted
Kath
Hi Bennysmum
Usually the preop is fitted in before the operation and it did mean for me a Covid test then isolation before my LAR It’s just a general health check and meet the anaesthetist
Mine was squashed in as the hospital ran a cohesive bowel care team the pre op clinic was separate and pre oped all the patients so they did an emergency appointment for Saturday Then on the Saturday the receptionist phoned to say the clinic was shut! Boy did my Surgeon have a melt down
Anyway if you’ve got everything ready for your treatment it’s sounding positive.

Thank you Ann - it’s just thrown me getting pre op before any results etc - I know it’s good they are moving quick and not complaining. - it is just I don’t know what the op is exactly or what for - no-one seems to be able to tell me anything on phone so will just have to wait it out I guess. V x
Hi Bennysmum
It is a roller coaster ride and your fast. Mine was like that. In one way I just wanted it done but it’s scary.
The pre ops nothing it’s just weight height ecg bloods chat then see anesthetist who will talk about your meds. It’s reassuring
At least that’ll be done before seeing the consultant. Hopefully he’s got everything in place to get that horrid thing out.
I didn’t get any results. I had the consultant explain he’d seen everything and talked to the team and he planned to operate.
Sending you a hug.
Ann
