Hi there. It's been just over a year since I was diagnosed with bowel and liver cancer. It is stage 4 and inoperable and incurable.

I had chemo and scans showed the liver had cleared significantly but latest scan shows it is back and worse. My oncologist says I have few months left but this could be extended a couple of months with more aggressive chemo.

I don't have the strength for this anymore and decided to leave nature take its course instead of being ill from the chemo till my time comes

  • Hi

Sorry to hear of your situation but I totally understand what you are saying . There is a balance to be struck and sounds as though you know which pathway is right for you .

I also wondered if you might find this group helpful . It is a patient only forum to give people the freedom to share . But you will notice a lot of interesting threads too on a variety of subjects . Might find some support there too as you move forward .

You are also very welcome to stay here . A lot of people use a few different groups .

    Take care ,

    • I am sorry you feel like that but totally understand where you are coming from. I am having chemo again but think it's more for my family than myself. You are very brave. Sending you love & hugs Heart️. I also have stage 4 bowel cancer with liver & lung metastasis. I am finding for the last 5 wks that I am having a full & acidic feeling in my stomach so finding it hard to eat & only able to eat little & often. I have started round 3 of chemo & have my 2nd cycle on Monday just wondering if anyone else has this problem. I know it is to do with the liver but have been put on steroids, omeprazole & peptac but still not much better. I just need to get this sorted as it is starting to get me down x
  • Hi

My mum was like that on chemo . A slight reduction in chemo helped with it but she only took that one the second year of treatment when she was more confident in the process .

Definitely speak to your oncologist about it . If it’s any encouragement once she stopped chemo it resolved .

    Not easy at all .

I think my mum probably endured for us too ! For that I am grateful but there is a line a would not want her to cross for us too .

    These are such difficult decisions.

    Thinking of you all .
