Hi all! I am just wanting a bit of reassurance I suppose and will go to GP if necessary but basically I had an emergency right hemicolectomy in August and when the pathologist looked at the part of my bowel that was removed they noticed it was a tumour that had been causing all the issues and pain I had been having. They removed 22 lymph nodes which were all clear and all my CT scans of abdomen and chest were also clear, so no chemotherapy needed. I have recently been having a weird feeling / discomfort at my right side I would say where you would get a stitch if running? I genuinely feel terrified to phone the GP in case it is something awful but also know that based on my most recent scans, and blood tests done in November, it is unlikely to be anything too serious...? I will go to the GP or phone my consultant but I like to give things a few weeks to see if they go away on their own... but has anyone been in this position before?? I am 37 and a mummy so I think I will always just be scared of bad news and sometimes it is hard not to think the worst. Anyway, I have found this forum sooooo reassuring and good for my mental state so hopefully someone can share some experiences with me. Xx
Hi, Clarita192, I think for peace of mind I'd run it past your allocated collectoral nurse, or the consultant. I feel the GP would likely ask them anyhow. It is likely things are still settling down after the invasion of the operation, but best know! Take care.
