Hello All, things are going well since my procedure for a permanent stoma. Had a UTI at Christmas which was hard to move. But got good advice here, mentioned it to my GP, and found I was on the wrong antiobiotics. 1st feb I have my scan and 3rd of feb the results from the doctor, those 3 monthly check up are so stressful. I’m so happy to be here, and life nearly back to normal. Just don’t want to burden family and friends every time scans are due. It’s a lonely place to be.

I get very wobbly every time I have a scan or appointment with the team. It’s very worrying.
I think it’s how we are.
Flight or fight.
You’re not alone here.

I come here to give me some head space with people that get it and are not going to worry too much.

That’s this wonderful group. Here for each other and know how that anxiety can grab you. Do you know I said to my sister that I tend to get wobbly before any appointments and she’s a survivor of breast cancer twenty year plus.
She said. Of course you do!
Yes of course we all do.
Take care and I hope all’s well.
Keep posting
Ann
Even as a carer I used to feel anxiety rising . I also thing it was a bit of a trauma response to the very first scan and with over 35 scans we certainly got an opportunity to practice getting better .
I am Holding out for more good news for you .
My dad is back on a stronger antibiotic for two weeks . The consultant said it may rebound and it did but hopefully this will be the end of the matter . Did you get a better antibiotic?

Thank you Court. Got a much better antibiotic. A bit like your dad, it does take longer than I thought. I really appreciate your support and everyone here. And on a strangely funny note my Consultant suggested I lose 2 stone. So anxiety and weight loss. So no chocolate cake.
Whatever cancer throws your way, we’re right there with you.
