Was diagnosed with a 3cm tumour in bowel in Nov been on chemo tablets and radiotherapy 3 times a week. Had 4 weeks scan not shrinking lost my hair through chemo, it sucks. I had 4 week break from chemo just had another scan results still not shrunk but not grown or spread.
I'm sick of everyone telling me to stay positive I just feel angry Md want to cry.
We keep it real here so I am glad you felt able to say how you are feeling .
Did they say what the long term treatment aims are ? Have you thought about a second opinion ?
I can understand why you are getting fed up . Most people like a bit of understanding and direction in their plan and dealing with uncertainty is tough .
Take care ,

I lost my hair on capox.it does grow back and you can get some lovely wigs on prescription.
I know how upsetting it is especially when you are told it may just thin a little.but hang in there it gets better and sometimes even comes back a different texture or colour

Yes Kath. Though I didn’t have chemo my sister did she had breast cancer. She lost all her hair in her mid forties. Her hair was fine and light auburn. It came back thick wavy and darker.
When they said I may have chemo I looked at pink, mauve and silver wigs but I am old so I would look like a character from are you being served.

As I understood your comment. ‘Can you live with a tumour if its not growing’ you were implying not to have any other Tx ?? If you were 85yo yeah sure but as you now have said you are 47 I would continue throwing everything you can at it !
I don’t blame you for being angry at your specialists
The ‘gruelling Tx’ must at least be holding it at bay… but I’m sure you just want it out !!
Hi, when my husband Pete was diagnosed with bowel cancer it was stage 2, 10mm. It was not until he had his op that 1 out of 13 lymph nodes had gone into the bowel wall. Because of this he had to have chemo. At the time they said that whether he had chemo for 3 months or 6 months the results would be the same, he ended up having 4 months of chemo. x
That’s completely understandable. Remember you don’t have to positive you can be however you need to get through. Good luck.
