As posted before. Mom was diagnosed in November. Since then she has become dehydrated and weak. The hospital is trying to fix this but I am working on getting her transferred to a better hospital where her oncologist is after she was too poorly to attend her appointment yesterday.

new scans show innumerable liver mets which were then when she was diagnosed

now found mets to skull, all spine, ribs, pelvis, femur and shoulder/arm

i am looking for hope. I am so distraught. I hope chemo shrinks everything and helps a lot

thanks In advance

  • Hi , what a shock that must have been to hear about the new mets. I'm so sorry that you're having to go through all of this, it really is a horrible journey.

Have they said when your mum may be well enough to start chemo? I think that will help as you'll then be starting to fight the cancer back.

Are you trying to get your mum transferred to a specialised cancer hospital? That may be worth looking into seeing as there are mets in multiple places and specialist cancer hospitals are perhaps more likely to have seen cases like this before. Equally, I'd say getting on chemo as soon as your mum is feeling strong enough will be the key next step. Then let's see how things are looking once she's had a good few months of chemo.

Thank you, I am unsure but they said they will let us know As soon as they know. I have asked to be referred for second opinions of treatment plan from royal marsdon in london, Rutherford cancer centre and Basingstoke x

  • You might also want to see if her cell type is compatible with Immunotherapy.
Really sorry to hear this information but chemo can stabilise and give extra time for some people .

You are doing all you can getting a second opinion and certainly for my mum this gave her more information and a bit of direction .

Send your mum our love and best wishes .
