Bowel and stomach issues

I wrote on here 4 months ago with ongoing problems bowel pain and change in bowel movements , fit test was normal , doctor said could be ibs or thyroid so I left it , now last 2 months of ringing doctors cause I have been having stomach pain and bloatness with the same other ongoing problems he said it’s been going onto to long I need to speak to my own doctor because it’s concerning, now the worrying is back and I feel the doctors has messed me around.

Hi Meljb If you are still having problems then you need to ask your doctor to refer you for a colonoscopy. Only 10% of colonoscopies result in a diagnosis of bowel cancer but at least you will be able to eliminate it. A family friend has recently had one as he was having stomach pains and bloating and it turned out to be colitis. If, and it is just an if at the stage, it did turn out to be bowel cancer then it is notoriously slow growing but also very treatable.
