Having posted on other groups it was suggested that I should join this group as I was diagnosed with Rectal Cancer about 9 months ago.
I have had chemo and radiography for five weeks and scans of different types with far to many blood tests for my liking. I now await a clinical review on the 11th January to see where we are with the future. Fingers crossed.

  • Hi Chromeplated and welcome, sorry to hear that you have joined the club. My treatment kicked off with five weeks of chemo radiotherapy too with the aim to shrink the tumour before operating. I don't know if you have had any feedback from your treatment so far but mine was so successful in shrinking it the surgeon almost didn't operate (though he did) which shows how good it can be.

I hope that your get a good outcome for whatever future treatment the team suggests and do come back to the group and chat about it when you know more or if you have any questions or information you want.

  • Hi  and a warm welcome from me too. Yes it’s quite a long wait between finishing chemoradiotherapy and then the follow up scans and treatment decision. Hopefully you’ve had a good response and can move forward to the next stage

Please let us know how your meeting goes?

    Take care

  • Hi best of luck with results - know exactly how you will worrying as my husband diagnosed about same time and gone through same treatments - know it cant be avoided but it is a long wait after chemo radiation finishes to your next scans - we just had confirmation this week op is going ahead next week ….who ever would think we’d be crying tears of happiness to hear a major op was going ahead -but  we did. Good luck
