Hi, I am having a line put in on the 5th January for chemo to start on the 7th. I would really like some advise on things like exercise and carrying out normal everyday tasks. I am normally a very active person and am not looking forward to being restricted. Thankyou.
Hi . I’ve attached a link to a page about chemo lines. I had a picc line which is slightly different as it goes in the arm rather than the chest? I had to keep it dry when showering and couldn’t do any activity which involved swinging my arm about like tennis or golf. Apart from that my life went on as normal. It was a lot easier having chemo through it than direct into one of my veins which were pretty shot by then!
Im sure the nurses who fit the line will give you lots of guidance on what you can and can’t do and I hope your chemo goes well.
Take care
Karen x
Thankyou Kareno62, I just think I am more worried about chemo this time. Last time it was into my veins which I didn’t mind. I feel so well and back doing CrossFit and running etc so am still a little shocked that the cancer is still there. Different type of chemo this time so I’m hoping the side effects aren’t going to be as bad. X
