I was booked for 2 difficult to reach lesion biopsys on my neck yesterday and was dreading it. I think my mind went into over drive apart from the natural worrying . I got Santa and his elves incogneto, the Dr and his team were so funny and put me right at ease . The pain I'd been expecting was dulled with lidocaine and apart from a couple of sharp twinges while he " showed his team " how to be a vampire" I had no discomfort. The waiting for the results over new year may get to me but if I could have Mr ? for all my procedures I'd be very happy . Has anyone else had a "merry " team that made them smile not fear ?
My husband's first consultant for throat cancer was Italian and very upbeat. My husband had difficulty swallowing after the operation and the consultant was saying 'Eat ze spaghetti'. The nurse, standing behind him was furiously shaking her head!!! I think you need someone positive to get you through the worst bits!!
