Feeling kinda meh at the moment still waiting on CT scan results for my mom which she had on the 3rd. Hope she heard soon so we can find out what needs doing. Any words of wisdom would be appreciated in the time.
Hi jlutw1983. It’s tough waiting for scan results hence the ‘scanxiety’ term. I’ve no words of wisdom other than to try and keep busy and remember thoughts are not facts - you can’t second guess what the scan will show so try and distract yourself until the results are back
Have to agree with Kareno62 as your thoughts can take you to many places which is not your mum’s reality at this point . A patient told me to keep your head where you body is . When you start to feel your thoughts drifting off to darker places start to change to an activity. It takes a lot of work and practice but you will have some wins .
How is your mum doing ? Can she phone her specialist nurse to see when she is getting her results ? Her GP might be able to access them too .
My mom is doing OK but isn't sleeping great and don't think any of the family are either. She had her Ct scan on the 3rd but it feels such a long wait. How long do you think she should wait before phoning?
Two weeks is roughly the given time to allow for the radiologist reports to come through . After that I think it’s reasonable to ask . It gives them time to write it up and sign it off . Most staff are not allowed to give details of it until it’s signed off . Although they many oncologist can see thrr err m on their clinical portals .
