Why don't you ask to delay the start? A few days will not make a difference to the chemo, but will give you a big mental boost! 

Agree with asking to delay it if possible. You will likely start to feel side effects at the end of the first IV and then continue as the days progress, nothing awful but it will probably not be great when you’re trying to enjoy family time, I really wouldn’t combine the two. See if you can start chemo next week, once you’ve had your first cycle you’ll know what to expect from it.

starting chemo best benefits starting 2 weeks post op ( who manages that in the real world;) 

4-6 weeks sill beneficial 

Post 8 weeks not as beneficial 

might help your decision making.

I wouldn’t delay although that said I am thinking of a slight delay for a few days in Jan for hubbies 60th party and Apparently my Mondays will change to Wednesdays for Xmas/NY

Can you visit rellies  a week earlier ?
