Hi all well I went to see my surgeon yesterday very anxious but all was good we ran through the chemo episode and he wasn't worried I'd only had 5 cycles I thought it was 6 but hey ho, he told us that the lymph node wasn't confirmed as a positive cancer he said it was debatable so oncologist and team decided to go with mop up to he sure.
He said he was pleased with me and that if all the tumor had grown in the sigmoid I would have been dead his words mine decided to grow out of my mucus fistula even though I moaned about that fistula it saved my life!
All of my cancer was removed and the margins were good most of my rectum was taken so he's not concerned about anything appearing there but he is going to do a flexible sigmoid sometime next year even though I protested. He burnt off my granulated tissue on my scar line so that was good, booked a ct scan for next month.
So all in all he was very pleased with me and told me I'm cancer free and to enjoy my Christmas this year.
That’s fantastic news HazG. Hopefully that will help your wound heal better !
I thought you ploughed onto your sixth cycle too as I remember thinking it was brave stuff given your reaction .
Now you can celebrate in style . You have endured the hard stuff for the opportunity to enjoy the good stuff .
Take care .
