Evening all (well morning now)!
What a day! I had my liver resection today, I was terrified to say the least but absolutely everyone here has been amazing, I am in awe.
I spent 5 hours in recovery and then back to the ward. My surgeon said it went very well, he has taken away everything he could see, he did say they felt something but it could be a dead tumour, suppose time will tell. I'm pretty chuffed as he said my liver is "top notch" which given the amount of chemo I've had he's never seen that before.
Struggling to sleep with the tubes, etc but I'm feeling pretty good. Love the morphine on tap!
Going to be sitting in the chair tomorrow.
No exercise for a while but apparently the surgeon said to hubby when he called him that housework is OK!
Sweet dreams, Michelle
Hi court I'm doing really well thank you so much for asking. It's so nice to be home with my little family and in my own bed! Haven't been doing much, taking it nice and slow but it's really good to feel myself improving with each day.
I'm expecting my Onc to call this week, need to get in and get the primary out now, the surgeon said it should be 4-6 weeks so I'm really hoping I'm not in over Xmas but if it is, so be it.
Just been wrapping presents, it's Louie's 4th birthday tomorrow, he's beyond excited!!
Hope you and the family are well? Getting fresh up there I bet?!xx
Oh … so pleased to hear you are back home with your wee gang doing mum things . Hope it’s a wonderful birthday party .
Who would have thought a few months ago you would be sitting with your liver sorted .
Only the primary to resolve and your good to go .
You did so well by yourself and brought this to where you are now .

Thank you court yes, indeed, feel extremely lucky.
Just had a call from the nurse, I was discussed in the MDT today, everyone is very pleased with the liver op outcome, Mr Rees said its a R0 resection which I gather is good news.
They now want me to have a course of radiotherapy as looking at historic scans, the spread was vast and very close to the vascular system. They are worried if they operate now they would be unable to differentiate between active and dead cells. So, they want to zap it so as not to leave anything behind as they are now looking to cure (that word sounded so good)!
Not looking to 6 weeks of radio and was looking forward to the primary op, but I have put my faith in them and they know best.
Probably won't start till after Xmas now but any tips to cope with radio would be greatly appreciated.
Best wishes to all
Michelle. Xx

Hi Star74,
So pleased you’ve had some good news regarding your liver op outcome after what you’ve been through and had to fight for. Really good you have faith in the team you have now and how wonderful they have said they are now looking to cure, that must have sounded so good and boosted your spirits!
I hope you can relax a little over the next few weeks and really enjoy Christmas with your family. I can’t help regarding radiotherapy but hopefully the tips Court has put together with help from others will be useful.
Best Wishes

Thank you courtand Net77. Yes, it's radiotherapy on the bowel before they will operate, they said this would be the best way to ensure they get everything out and kill any stray cells.
I was hoping to crack straight on with the op but slow and steady wins the race!
So, as you both rightly say it gives me the chance to have a lovely Christmas with the little ones and attempt to increase my fitness levels in preparation!
Best wishes, Michelle. Xx
