Evening all (well morning now)!
What a day! I had my liver resection today, I was terrified to say the least but absolutely everyone here has been amazing, I am in awe.
I spent 5 hours in recovery and then back to the ward. My surgeon said it went very well, he has taken away everything he could see, he did say they felt something but it could be a dead tumour, suppose time will tell. I'm pretty chuffed as he said my liver is "top notch" which given the amount of chemo I've had he's never seen that before.
Struggling to sleep with the tubes, etc but I'm feeling pretty good. Love the morphine on tap!
Going to be sitting in the chair tomorrow.
No exercise for a while but apparently the surgeon said to hubby when he called him that housework is OK!
Sweet dreams, Michelle
UPDATE: oops!
Went downhill very quickly, sleeping all the time, no appetite, sickness, etc. Anyway got so bad that I passed out when getting out of bed. My surgeon came to see me and within 15 minutes I was getting blood, urgent CT scan and surgery cleared. I had a clot and internal bleeding, spent the night in Intensive care, came back to the ward yesterday. Bit touch and go but I'm so glad I was here, in very good hands. Xx
So , so delighted to read this ! What a way to start the day ! So pleased you got that second opinion which has led you down this pathway !
It is also great news your liver is in such great condition despite your chemo ! I remember well the surgeon saying there is Windows of opportunity with the liver and he thought my mum’s liver was changing colour a bit in the scan ! So that’s really great news that your liver is so healthy for the future !
Its your turn to be spoilt as you recover so someone else can clean that house ! Pay close attention to that advice as you want to avoid a hernia! My mum pushed herself a bit too much !
Welcome to Nedville !
Enjoy your time sitting up and be very good to yourself !
Your husband will be over the moon !
Much love and a ton of good wishes , those wee children have the best gift today !
