Hi anyone in the group have had the life Mel honey and what they thought

  • Do you mean manuka honey ? Are we talking about the same thing ?

If so my mum used it for its antibacterial properties ! It was only after chemo I learnt some honey can interact with certain chemos ! That may be outdated now as it was a long time ago but the guidance was to run it by your oncologist for approval !

Saying that she has no infections on chemo !

It's called life Mel it was diagnosed on this morning by Dr Chris steel it's supposed keep your white blood cells from going low just wondering if anyone on here had been taken it and what they thought thank you

  • Interesting! Had a quick look !
Certainly my mum had chemo for two years and her white cells stayed up ! Can’t say the same for her platelets though ! Grinning.

Be interesting to know what the oncologists think !

What did they do aboat your mum's platelets at the time they were down

  • They dropped down to the minimum requirement! They have never come back up ! One of those odd things but she seems to survive like that now !

They think the liver resection might have contributed the first year !

She still made it through a second year of chemo despite them being low !
