Hi
I was diagnosed nearly three weeks ago, with advanced bowel cancer ( 9 cm tumour ) and two lesions on my liver.
I had a colonoscopy last Friday to get some biopsy’s
unfortunately they couldn’t find the tumour ( they tried twice)
on Wednesday this week I had a mri liver scan
I’m now waiting for the feedback .
Yesterday I started to feel intense pain on more my left side of lower back and leg . I’m really scared as in my head I think it’s spread in the last few weeks
I don’t have any point of contact with the hospital as yet .
I really don’t want to go back to A&E and just be put in a bed all weekend . My so far experiences have not been good .
I’m just not sure where to go to get the right help .
or should I try and persevere with the pain .
I’ve not needed much pain relief in the last few weeks
I’ve tried paracetamol but not helping . Reluctant to take codine as constipation was a big issue with me
that’s why I ended up in A&E in the first place
I just feel so scared
Honestly I think anxiety comes into play as well ! You are having it tough in terms of getting a concrete diagnosis!
I think codine is tricky with the bowel aspect but out of hours might be able to help guide you on what’s best to take !
Remember you have had a Ct scan , colonoscopy and nothing big and troublesome was found . Hold onto that !
The helpline nurses are there for you too !
