hi

I joined this wonderful sight last week after being diagnosed with stage 4 metastatic cancer , spread to the liver (two masses on liver)

I was told the news by drs in A@E and a specialist of colorectal cancer.

This morning I had colonoscopy. They found no tumours

Dr asked for a second opinion. He to said bowel was clear .
Obviously I don’t no about my liver yet

and quite frankly I don’t know who to believe

I cannot let myself be hopeful, only to have the rug pulled beneath my feet .

has anyone else had similar experience please

many thanks

  • Hi

Has anyone suggested a PET scan to you ? They can be very good at adding another method to check for tumours . It would also indicate if their is uptake in the liver !

The bowel occasionally has tumours that seem to resolve and it is recorded as an unknown primary ! It’s a very strange thing indeed but occasionally you see it coming up !

Very frustrating as they will need to do more work to get to the bottom of it !

How are you holding up ?

    Hi court

I’m having an mri scan for the liver this Wednesday.
I guess my dr will see the the results from colonoscopy sometime this week

I’m worried because of the time delay.
     I feel stuck , without a direction .

I’m wondering  will I even get to see Christmas. So hard to be positive . The mind is  a very powerful tool.  Sadly it often works against me.

thank you court . It’s so kind of you to answer .

Completely understandable to feel so uncertain and anxious at this stage ! I remember thinking that way about Christmas too ! But it’s my mum’s 12 th so hang on in there !
It’s not easy to pull your mind back so don’t be hard on yourself . Most people struggle at this point !

We are here for you !
