I completed chemoradiotherapy on 22nd October. Had side effects such as tiredness and a little sore. However wham bang on 23rd my bloods had doubled for my diabetes, I was extremely sore all underneath and bleeding , previously spotting and temperature was border high. I called hospital on 24th who advised that this is a side effect which I would have appreciated this information as wouldn’t have panicked so much. However would you say the bleeding would last at least 2 weeks after finishing chemoradiotherapy as believe the effects of treatment carries on for about another 2 weeks .
Pez2. The effects of chemoradiotherapy can carry on for several weeks after stopping the physical treatment hence the long wait before scanning. Some side effects can get slightly worse in that time but tend to improve after a few weeks.
You did the right thing ringing the hospital and don’t forget the nurses on here are available if you need any reassurance on 0808 808 00 00
Take care
